Basic Check-up includes scale examination for stuck shed, mites, and rot; mouth, eye, cloaca examination for infections. Customize your appointment to solve specific issues you are aware of. If we discover other issues, our care specialist will bring it to your attention.

Please keep in mind that, if upon examination we locate an issue that requires immediate veterinary attention, we will be glad to provide a referral to our trusted supervising veterinarian.

Is your concern related to stuck eye caps in snakes?

Prior to booking an appointment for stuck eye cap removal, please wait for your snake to go through its upcoming shed. We will be able to work on eye caps as soon as it's done shedding. Sometimes this issue requires a second visit if we detected multiple layers. Please remember that if your pet is not ready for this procedure upon arrival, we would have to reschedule your appointment.

Support your reptile's well-being with Electrolyte + Vitamin Soak. A lot of common health issues start with vitamin deficiency and dehydration of an animal. Our soaking solution works effectively to help your animal receive needed hydration, improve digestion and stabilize other natural body processes. We recommend repeating this procedure not more than once a month.

Mite infestation is a problem that requires special attention in order to not worsen or spread the insects on other animals. We will remove the visible mites off the body surface and apply a water-proof solution to stop mites from spreading. However, it is recommended that you repeat the treatment a week after your appointment or if some mites remain under the scales/on the surface.

This procedure is provided mainly to male lizards whose femoral pores are enlarged/clogged with hormone secretion. Even though femoral pores take some months to years to actually create cloggage, we recommend checking your lizard's femoral pores every 6 months. In some cases, clogged pores may become inflamed if not manually removed.

Why does it happen to my Bearded Dragon?

Both males and females of different lizard species have Femoral Pores as a part of their reproductive system, however female species do not usually develop large and actively secreting pores. In their natural habitat, males spread their smell looking for females to mate with by rubbing their femoral pore secretion on logs, caves and any nearby objects. In captivity, this natural process is slowed down by a number of reasons like limited space or absence of females. Despite the missing factors, it is possible to maintain femoral pores in captivity. You may place hard rubbing objects in your enclosure like branches and slates, however fixing just one factor may not bring the desired results. Gentle manual removal of hardened secretion every so often will eliminate the risk of infections in a long run.

Prior to procedure, we let a reptile rest in soaking agent for about 20 minutes. Once pores are well-soaked, we gently work on massaging each clog out of its pore. Total appointment duration 45 minutes.
