A 1-step paint correction is meant to polish mainly to increase the shine. It wiil remove around 50% of light scratches.

A 2-step paint correction wii first use a cutting compound which is more abrasive and will remove 80-90% light and moderate scratches. It is followed by a polish te make your car shine!
