Scott Moss brings years of high-level pitching experience to Volusia Sports Center. A left-handed pitcher from DeLand High School, he graduated in 2013 and went on to play at the University of Florida, one of the top college baseball programs in the country.
During his time at UF, Scott underwent Tommy John surgery in 2014 but returned strong. As a junior in 2016, he pitched 30 innings and delivered a standout performance in the SEC Tournament, throwing six shutout innings against LSU and earning All-Tournament Team honors. His impressive season led to being drafted in the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
Scott’s professional career saw him excel at multiple levels. He was selected as an All-Star in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2019, he was part of the high-profile three-team trade involving Trevor Bauer and Yasiel Puig, landing with the Cleveland Guardians (formerly Indians). He remained on the Guardians’ 40-man roster until 2021 before joining the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 2022. After one season with the Phillies, he retired from professional baseball.
